Man in his 50s dies in farm accident trying to repair damage caused by Storm Ophelia

The incident happened around 1pm today.

A MAN HAS died following an accident in Cork this afternoon.

The farmer was attempting to repair the roof of a shed which had been damaged during Storm Ophelia.

The incident happened on land in Kilgarriff outside Clonakilty.

His body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem will take place.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority are investigating the incident.
